'Saturday Night Live' Adds Two New Cast Members
While Mad TV is busy getting canceled, Saturday Night Live has been doing better than ever, and now they've announced the addition of two new cast members to the show. Abby Elliott (pictured, right) and Michaela Watkins (below left) will join the show starting this week, and just in time to give Kristen Wiig and Casey Wilson, previously the only female cast members, some much-needed support. Tina Fey's appearances as Sarah Palin were great, but they really underscored how desperately in need of women the cast is (that and half the stars of The View being played by men).
Elliott is the daughter of veteran comedic actor (and ill-fated SNL alum) Chris Elliott, so she has some pretty good humor genes going for her. Watkins is probably best known for a recent guest-starring stint on The New Adventures of Old Christine.
