'Modern Family' Books Some High-Profile Guest Stars

It's already been touted by some critics as the best new comedy of the season (although personally I found the pilot rather unimpressive), and now ABC's Modern Family, which premieres September 23 at 9 p.m. EST, has landed a couple of big names for guest spots in an upcoming episode. The most impressive is Edward Norton, certainly not someone known for his sitcom work, who will play a musician; slightly less famous actress Elizabeth Banks will appear in the same episode as the gal pal of the show's Vietnamese baby-adopting gay couple. I guess this is just another official anointment of this show as the buzz comedy of the season; me, I'm still more excited about Cougar Town and Community.
