Good news: Legendary sketch-comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall and former Arrested Development co-stars David Cross and Will Arnett each have new TV shows. Bad news: Neither show will be airing in the U.S., at least not anytime soon. The Kids' long-in-the-works eight-part narrative series Death Comes to Town now has a pretty promising trailer available, and will begin showing on Canada's CBC network sometime in 2010. There's no word on a U.S. network or airdate, although I imagine given the troupe's enduring popularity, some outlet (probably Comedy Central) will pick it up.
Cross wrote and directed the pilot for The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which aired last month as part of a showcase for various comedy pilots on the U.K.'s Channel 4. Arnett and filmmaker Spike Jonze co-star in the show about a hapless temp charged with heading up the London office of a large corporation. Channel 4 hasn't said whether more episodes will be produced, so theoretically a U.S. network could pounce and take it to series. In the meantime, YouTube has a (mildly funny) clip.
