Golden Globes Honor 'Girls,' 'House of Lies'

Follow me on:

GirlsIn the TV comedy categories at last night's Golden Globe Awards, HBO's Girls and Showtime's House of Lies picked up the top awards, with Girls winning for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical, and the show's creator/star, Lena Dunham, winning for Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical. Don Cheadle was a rather surprising winner as Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for his role on House of Lies.

I'm not a fan of either show, so I can't say I'm particularly pleased with these results, but then again, it helps to remember that the Golden Globes are voted on not by critics or by industry peers, but by a group of foreign journalists who are basically star-struck moochers.
