- Jon Stewart took over as the show's anchor man in January 1999. Soon after he led Comedy Central's election coverage, "Indecision 2000." A former stand-up comedian, Jon Stewart's previous roles include Big Daddy, Playing by Heart, The Faculty and The Larry Sanders Show. He hosted the Academy Awards in 2006.

- Rob Corddry is a veteran of sketch comedy and commercials. He was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade on Comedy Central, appeared in Old School and is also seen regularly on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on NBC. .
- Ed Helms was a stand-up comedian who joined The Daily Show news team in April 2002. He appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend and was a member of The Upright Citizens Brigade.
- Lewis Black, is one angry guy. A comedian who appears regularly on The Daily Show, ranting and raving about something or other that ticked him off this week.
