Zach Braff directs the 100th episode, an homage to "The Wizard of Oz." On J.D.'s day off, he is called into work and can't seem to leave. Turk searches for a heart donor. Carla fears she's not brave enough to be a parent. Elliot doesn't think she's smart enough to lead a Q&A session. The Janitor paints color-coded lines around the hospital, including a yellow one leading home.

"My Big Bird"
Guest starring Jason Bateman. The group is asked to recount the weeks leading up to a mysterious death of a patient. Everyone was off doing something distracting. J.D> and Turk were chasing after a thank-you from a former patient (Jason Bateman), Elliot discovers her make-out partner is married, and Carla was recruiting for a group lottery purchase.

Karen gets tapped as an emergency member of a bowling team.

Barry gets a date with a girl who turned Ben down for the prom. Ben had made a secret tape of himself reading a poem to her. When Barry brings her home, he is jealous of how well she and Ben get along, so he makes a tape of his own. Jason is demoted when his boss discovers an "endowment" Jason possesses and becomes insecure.

"Stone Cold Crazy"
Samantha, Hyde's new wife and a former stripper, helps Kitty and Donna spice it up. She also helps Donna take some spicy photos to send to Eric. Fez learns the downside of living with a girl.

One of Earl's old friends, Hank, is arrested, so Earl decides to make up for ruining his birthday party, number 18 on his list.
