There were a number of surprises in the TV comedy nominees for the 2010 Golden Globes, including several nominations for new musical dramedy Glee, which ended up taking home the award for best musical or comedy series. New shows Hung, Nurse Jackie, Modern Family, Cougar Town and United States of Tara all scored nominations as well, with Tara's Toni Collette winning for best actress in a comedy series. But it was Globes veteran Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock who beat out his greener competition for the TV comedy best actor award.
The mixed categories for supporting actors got a stronger comedy showing this year, with repeat nominee Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother joining Jane Adams of Hung and Jeremy Piven of Entourage, in amongst the dramatic nominees, although none of them ended up winning.
