Bio and Background: Ron Howard was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on March 1, 1954. He began his film career as a child actor with his first movie at the age of 18 months. He is best known for his roles as Opie on The Andy Griffith Show and Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. His true interest was directing, and he began shooting films at the age of 15. He later attended film school at the University of Southern California, but left soon thereafter to gain more experience.
