'Free Agents' Profile

Free Agents features co-workers Alex and Helen, who share a one-night stand and then must deal with the aftermath, including their complicated feelings for each other. Alex is newly divorced, while Helen is dealing with the sudden death of her fiancé. Both of them cope with their problems while working alongside a group of quirky co-workers at a public-relations agency.

September 14-October 5, 2011 (one season, four episodes) on NBC

History:

Free Agents began as a British series, airing one season of six episodes on Channel 4 in 2009. In January 2011, NBC ordered a pilot for an American version of the show, with original creator Chris Niel as co-writer, and original co-star Anthony Head reprising his role. The show was picked up for NBC’s fall 2011-2012 schedule, and premiered in September 2011. It was canceled due to low ratings after just four episodes, with nine left unaired.

Creators:

Free Agents was developed for American TV by Party Down co-creator John Enbom, based on the British series created by Chris Niel. Enbom, Todd Holland, Ira Ungerleider and Karey Burke are the executive producers, along with Niel, Kenton Allen and Nira Park, producers of the British show.
