Happily Divorced features former couple Fran and Peter, who spent 18 years married before Peter admitted he was gay. Now they live together in the same house and try to move on in their romantic lives while remaining emotionally as close (and dependent on each other) as ever.

History:
Happily Divorced developed out of the real-life situation of star and co-creator Fran Drescher, who was married to Peter Marc Jacobson for 18 years before they separated in 1996 when he revealed he was gay. The two have remained friends, and they used their unique relationship as the basis for creating Happily Divorced.
