The title character of Mr. Sunshine is Ben Donovan, a curmudgeonly loner who works as the manager of a mid-level arena in San Diego. Ben hits 40 and realizes he may need to try harder to connect with people, although his quirky co-workers aren’t always so easy to deal with.
