'Outsourced' Profile

In Outsourced, Todd Dempsy, a manager for a Midwestern novelties manufacturer, is transferred to India to run his company’s new call center there. Todd has to adjust to living in a new country while also teaching his new co-workers about American culture and life.

History:

Outsourced began as an independent film in 2006, in which a manager travels to India to train his own outsourced replacement at a call center. In 2010, NBC developed the movie into a comedy series, which premiered in September 2010. The show debuted to negative reviews and mediocre ratings, and despite a fan campaign to save it, it was canceled by NBC after its first season.
