State of Georgia follows best friends Georgia and Jo as they move to New York City, where Georgia tries to start her acting career and Jo hopes to study physics at a top university. They rent space from Georgia’s aunt while working various part-time jobs as they pursue their goals.

History:
State of Georgia was developed as ABC Family’s second original sitcom, and it debuted in summer 2011 as a companion to Melissa & Joey. ABC Family canceled the series after one season due to low ratings.
