Accidentally on Purpose follows the life of 30-something newspaper film critic Billie, who has a one-night stand with a younger man and finds herself pregnant. Deciding to keep the baby and move in with her youthful fling, Billie has to figure out a whole new unplanned life for herself.

History:
Accidentally on Purpose premiered in fall 2009 as part of CBS' popular Monday-night sitcom lineup, and proved a successful companion for How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, with an order for additional episodes coming a few weeks into its first season. However, ratings declined over the course of the season, and the show was not renewed.

Accidentally on Purpose was loosely based on the memoir of the same name by real-life film critic Mary F. Pols, and developed for television by Claudia Lonow, who also created the Showtime comedy Rude Awakening and the short-lived Oxygen sitcom Good Girls Don’t. Lonow, Lloyd Braun, Gail Berman and Gene Stein serve as executive producers.
