Eastbound & Down chronicles the life of vulgar, mean-spirited former professional baseball player Kenny Powers, who flames out in the major leagues and finds himself back in his hometown teaching gym class at his old middle school, then living in Mexico and playing for a baseball team there.

History:
Eastbound & Down debuted on HBO in February 2009 to mixed reviews, but built up a solid cult following over its six-episode first season, and was renewed for a second season that debuted in 2010. The third and final season was announced in 2011.
