The Basics:

Comedian Chris Rock narrates this family comedy based on his real-life experiences growing up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York in the 1980s. Young Chris deals with being bused to an all-white high school, feuding with his younger brother and sister and navigating the dangers of his neighborhood. His hard-working dad holds down multiple jobs to support the family, and his strict mom is tough but loving.

History:

Everybody Hates Chris achieved record ratings for UPN and a great deal of critical acclaim when it premiered in 2005. When UPN and The WB merged, Chris moved to the newly formed CW for its second season. When The CW decided to focus away from comedy, Chris was canceled following its fourth season. The show was nominated for numerous awards, including Emmys and Golden Globes, through its run.

Creators:
