Gary Unmarried follows the post-marriage life of Gary Brooks, who’s recently divorced from ex-wife Allison, struggling to raise his two kids in a shared-custody arrangement and forge new romantic relationships, while also embarking on a new career in radio.
September 24, 2008-March 17, 2010 (two seasons, 37 episodes) on CBS
The first season is available on DVD.
Gary Unmarried received solid ratings at its premiere in September 2008, thanks to a strong lead-in from popular sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. The show also won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy in January 2009. For the second season, original cast members Jaime King, Al Madrigal and Ed Begley Jr. were let go, as the show's focus shifted to Gary's new job in radio. Despite the change in focus, ratings declined, and CBS canceled the show after its second season.
