My Boys follows the life of Chicago sportswriter PJ Franklin, and her group of close friends, almost all of whom are men. The tomboy-ish PJ is usually most comfortable as one of the guys, but sometimes that leads to romantic complications, and that’s when she turns to her best girlfriend, Stephanie.

History:
My Boys premiered in 2006 as part of a renewed initiative to push original comedy programming on TBS. It received positive reviews and high ratings, and aired a second season the following year; the two were eventually retroactively combined as the official first season when released on DVD. The official second season followed in 2008, and the third in 2009. For the 2010 fourth season, Jim Gaffigan left the cast. Following declining ratings, the show was canceled at the end of its fourth season.

My Boys was created by Betsy Thomas, who based the show on her own experiences as a woman with mostly male friends and interests traditionally considered masculine (sports, gambling). Thomas, Jamie Tarses and Gavin Polone serve as executive producers.
