The New Adventures of Old Christine debuted as a midseason replacement in March 2006 on CBS. It’s the first series featuring one of the four former principal cast members of Seinfeld to achieve long-term success (although ratings have been up and down), thereby breaking the so-called “Seinfeld curse.” In 2006, star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Despite awards and acclaim, the show slipped in popularity, and CBS canceled it in 2010 after five seasons.
