March 13, 2006
Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
Seasons 1-2 are available on DVD.
Divorced mom Christine Campbell works as the co-owner of a gym for women, raises her 10-year-old son Ritchie and tries to maintain a positive relationship with her ex-husband, who’s now dating a younger woman also named Christine. She’s often at odds with the supermoms of fellow students at Ritchie’s private school, and seeks help and advice from her live-in younger brother.
The New Adventures of Old Christine debuted as a midseason replacement in March 2006 on CBS. It’s the first series featuring one of the four former principal cast members of Seinfeld to achieve long-term success (although ratings have been up and down), thereby breaking the so-called “Seinfeld curse.” In 2006, star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Christine Campbell
Clark Gregg as Richard Campbell
Hamish Linklater as Matthew Kimble
Trevor Gagnon as Ritchie Campbell
Emily Rutherfurd as New Christine
Tricia O’Kelley as Marly
Alex Kapp Horner as Lindsay
Wanda Sykes as Barb
The New Adventures of Old Christine was created by Kari Lizer, formerly a writer and producer on Will and Grace. Lizer and Andy Ackerman serve as executive producers.
