Party Down follows the employees of the titular Los Angeles catering company, most of whom are attempting to break into the film industry. Each episode takes place at a different catered event, where the Party Down crew work as little as possible and spend most of their time socializing or otherwise slacking off.

History:
Friends and collaborators Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Dan Etheridge and Paul Rudd created Party Down and shot its pilot without a commitment from any network to air the show. When the pilot came to the attention of the folks at premium-cable channel Starz, they picked it up to pair with comedy Head Case as part of their initiative to expand original programming. After a successful first season, the show was picked up for a second, although co-star Jane Lynch left to appear on Fox's Glee, and was replaced by Megan Mullally.
Cast:
Adam Scott as Henry Pollard
Ken Marino as Ron Donald
Megan Mullally as Lydia Dunfree
Ryan Hansen as Kyle Bradway
Martin Starr as Roman Debeers
Lizzy Caplan as Casey Klein
Creators:
Party Down was created by Rob Thomas, John Enbom and Dan Etheridge, all of whom worked on Veronica Mars, along with actor Paul Rudd. All four serve as executive producers.
