Romantically Challenged follows the lives of four Pittsburgh friends in their 30s who are still searching for romance: Recently divorced Rebecca is learning all over again how to date, while her younger sister Lisa is a wild partier who’s never had a real relationship. Rebecca’s best friend Perry is a hopeless romantic who’s still searching for “the one,” and his roommate Shawn is a serial womanizer.

Romantically Challenged was originally developed in January 2009 as a show about a guy caught between his girlfriend and his slacker best friend, with Alyssa Milano, Eric Christian Olsen, Kyle Bornheimer and Kelly Stables in the cast. The show was retooled after the original pilot wasn’t picked up, with Josh Lawson replacing Olsen, and the premise changed to a more general show about four friends looking for love. ABC announced the show as a midseason replacement for the 2009-2010 season, and it premiered in April 2010. After only four episodes, the show was canceled, leaving two installments still unaired.
