Rules of Engagement follows the lives of characters in three different stages of their romantic lives: Jeff and Audrey have been married for years; Adam and Jennifer are newly engaged; and Russell is still single and on the hunt. All five are friends, and try to help each other with their various relationship issues.

History:
Rules of Engagement premiered as a midseason replacement on CBS in February 2007, as part of the network’s successful Monday-night comedy lineup. The seven-episode first season received strong ratings, and the show came back the following fall, but its second season was cut short by the Hollywood writers’ strike. The third season debuted once again at midseason in 2009, and the fourth and fifth seasons followed.
