Surviving Suburbia follows the life of cranky suburban dad Steve Patterson, who tolerates the frustrating mundanities of his bland neighborhood for the sake of his loving wife and two children.

History:
Surviving Suburbia was originally announced as part of The CW’s 2008-2009 schedule, as part of the network’s Sunday-night outsourcing deal with production company Media Rights Capital. When that deal ended before Suburbia premiered, the show faced an uncertain fate. It was eventually picked up by ABC and premiered in April 2009. ABC pulled the show after four airings and played the remainder of the 13 first-season episodes during summer 2009. It was not picked up for a second season.
