Fox May Sweeps

From About.com

This May, That 70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle both end successful runs. Here also, there are plenty of guest stars on hand as the shows go out in style.

May Highlights on Fox:

King of the Hill
Bobby, inspired by a new friend (Dax Shepard), becomes a hip panhandler. The Hills get a new liberal neighbor (Ricki Lake) with an uncontrolled son, and Hank has to step in with discipline. Lucky (Tom Petty) returns, intent on getting his G.E.D. so he can propose to Luanne, but Peggy is ready to thwart him. The season finale and 200th episode airs on Sunday, May 14.

The Simpsons
After Principal Skinner is fired, his replacement (Francis McDormand) splits the school into two, one for boys and one for girls. Lisa, unhappy with her new education, masquerades as a boy. Then, Marge suffers from amnesia after a bout of spring cleaning, and puts herself back on the singles market (which no doubt comes as good news to Moe).

Springfield becomes embroiled in the creationism vs. Darwinism debate, leading to Lisa and Flanders in a courtroom standoff (with guest voices Larry Hagman and Melanie Griffith) Homer's resemblance to the missing link just might put the case to rest.

Then, in the season finale, Homer and Marge give advice to the second baseman for the Springfield Isotopes and his wife (guest voice Mandy Moore). But when Homer is caught giving her a neck massage, both couples are in trouble. Stacy Keach also guest stars. The season finale airs on Sunday, May 21.

The War at Home
The season ends a bit early for this freshman comedy. Dave tries to teach Hillary how to drive, but covers for her when she is pulled over for reckless driving and ends up arrested for DUI. Vicky forgets to register Dave for Shakespeare camp. Dave and Mike get hooked on online poker. The season finale airs on Sunday, April 30.

Malcolm in the Middle
The seventh and last season ends with Cloris Leachman returning in her Emmy-winning role as Grandma Ida. Malcolm graduates as valedictorian and goes off to Harvard. Reese tries to get a permanent job as the high schoool janitor (perhaps trying to make the list), and Francis gets a "real" job in a cubicle. The series finale airs on Sunday, May 14.

Family Guy
Three new eipsodes and a 90-minute season finale that's going to sound very familiar to fans who saw Stewie Griffin -- The Untold Story on DVD. First, Brian's gay cousin decides to wed, and Brian becomes a crazed activist trying to get Mayor West to overturn the ban on gay marriage.

Then the Griffin family's house, which happens to have an Indian burial ground in the backyard, goes "Poltergeist," causing Stewie to be sucked into the television Carol Anne-style.

Later, the Griffins are robbed, and hide out in the panic room. To pass the time, Peter relates the events in world history that explain the Griffin name.

In the 90-minute season finale, Stewie travels to San Francisco to meet a man he believes to be his father. When the man turns out to be Stewie of the future, Stewie realizes he must work to rewrite history. Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth of Beverly Hills 90210 make special guest voice appearances. The season finale airs on Sunday, May 21.

American Dad
Steve resorts to steroids to be more popular at school, and they work in an unexpected way. Francine decides to become a doctor after seeing what Haley thinks of her life as a housewife. Later, Steve's malicious friend Barry shows up to replace Steve in the household, and Steve's CIA skills come in handy. Then, Francine sets out to win George Clooney's heart so she can then destroy him, but Stan falls for Clooney and thwarts her plan. The season finale airs on Sunday, May 14.

That 70s Show
The series wraps up an eight season run with six new episodes, a one-hour retrospective and a one-hour finale that sees the return of Ashton Kutcher as Kelso. Hyde learns his marriage to Samantha is null and void. Jackie realized she's in love with Fez -- but how will he feel about her? Red loses his business and decides to retire. The "Brokeback" Bradys move in next door to Kitty and Red. The series ends with a few characters considering picking up and moving to Florida, the answer to the Fez and Jackie question, and Kelso returning to help the gang ring in the 80s.

Guest stars will include Tom Bosley (Happy Days), Christopher Knight and Barry Williams (The Brady Bunch), Gavin MacLeod (The Love Boat). The series finale and 200th episode airs on Thursday, May 18.
