New 2008-2009 TV Shows

A sneak peek at the new TV comedy shows coming in the 2008-2009 season

The major networks are hoping you'll laugh -- or at least tune in -- for the new 2008-2009 TV shows.

NBC's New TV Comedies:

  • The Office Spinoff (Winter/Spring)
    The Office will have new characters and locations, but with the same level of comedy.
  • Kath & Kim (Fall)
    Sitcom about a mother and daughter in middle class suburbia. SNL veteran Molly Shannon stars.
  • SNL Elections (Midseason)
    A Thursday night extension of SNL's Weekend Update that should lighten up the fall election.

ABC's New TV Comedies:

  • The Goode Family (Fall)
    A family devoted to good deeds is the newest animated comedy.
  • Scrubs (Fall)
    Not new to us, but new to ABC.

CBS's New TV Comedies:

  • Worst Week (Fall)
    A man struggles to impress his future in-laws, with comedic results.
  • Project Gary (Fall)
    Newly-divorced man deals with children, a demanding ex and beautiful new love interest.

Fox's New Comedies:

  • Do Not Disturb (Fall)
    A hot, hip hotel in New York provides the backdrop for the newest work-place comedy.
  • The Cleveland Show (Fall)
    An animated show featuring Cleveland Brown, who moves to a small town in Virginia because of a promise made to his high school sweetheart.
  • Class Dismissed (Fall)
    An animated show formally known as Sit Down and Shut Up, about high school teachers and their unfortunate students.

Showtime's New Comedies:

  • Tracy Ullman's State of the Union (Spring)
    A satirical look at life today through the many characters of Tracy Ullman.
